About EDMALYN
Hello! I am a qualified and friendly English tutor with over five years of teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English and am TESOL certified. I enjoy helping students gain confidence and improve their English in a supportive and relaxed learning environment. My lessons are well-structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s level and goals. I explain concepts clearly, provide guided practice, and offer encouraging feedback to help students make steady progress. I work with young learners, teenagers, and adults, from beginner to advanced levels. Whether you want to improve conversation skills, grammar, writing, or prepare for school or work, I am here to support you every step of the way. My approach to tutoring is student-centered, communicative, and goal-oriented. I focus on creating lessons that are engaging, practical, and tailored to each learner’s needs. I use a Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach, which encourages students to actively use English through speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
I adapt my techniques depending on the student’s level and goals. These may include: guided conversations and role-playing; vocabulary building through real-life contexts; grammar instruction with clear explanations and immediate practice; reading comprehension and writing tasks; error correction that is supportive and constructive.
I also incorporate visual aids, real-life examples, and structured feedback to help students gain confidence and improve accuracy.
A typical lesson lasts 50 to 60 minutes, allowing enough time for warm-up activities, focused instruction, guided practice, and feedback. Shorter sessions (30–40 minutes) are also available for young learners or busy professionals.
My lessons are suitable for: young learners, teenagers, and adults; beginner; students who want to improve conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing.
I adjust my teaching style to match each learner’s age, level, and learning pace, ensuring a supportive and motivating learning environment.
