About Lion
With over 18 years of experience as a violin tutor, I specialize in teaching college students who want to improve their technique, confidence, and musical understanding. I am passionate about helping students enjoy the learning process while achieving real progress. My teaching style combines creativity, structured guidance, and mentorship.
I focus on building a strong technical foundation, including posture, bow control, finger accuracy, and rhythm. Along with technique, I teach students how to add musical expression and emotion to their playing. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and take ownership of their learning. I use innovative teaching methods such as slow and mindful practice, practice journals, audio and video feedback, and guided listening sessions. These methods help students understand their strengths and areas for improvement. I also include music theory and sight-reading in lessons to build complete musicianship.
Accountability is a key part of my lessons. I help students set clear practice goals and follow a consistent routine. I monitor progress closely and provide clear feedback to help students stay focused and motivated. My lessons are friendly, supportive, and well-organized. Apart from violin, I can also teach supporting subjects like basic music theory, rhythm training, and performance skills.
