About Graham
I have a Bachelor of music degree from the UK. I started learning classical guitar at the age of 8 and began playing in various bands and shows from the age of 14. Styles covered were indie pop/rock, prog rock, funk, blues, folk (guitar & bouzouki) and jazz - big band and in the rhythm section for smaller contemporary ensembles.
Playing in superb cover bands with top level musicians, sight-reading or improvising from a possible selection of 400 songs on any night, was a great learning experience.
Having experience as a sound engineer in my own studio and teaching recording and mixing, I can explain how a guitarist has achieved their sound, how different guitar parts combine within the mix and advise about recording yourself.
As a composer. I’ve written music for bands, orchestra, small ensembles (string quartet etc), media, dance and film. If you want suggestions about composing or songwriting, just ask!

After an initial chat about your goals and level, I will suggest the most direct path to this end. I endeavour to teach all ages and levels from 8yrs up in person and 18yrs online after an initial consultation.
I have developed an accelerated program with the goal of the student playing their favourite songs as soon as possible. My constant aim is to find the right balance between student motivation and a thorough musical grounding, equipping the student for the future.
As well as providing professional sheet music, I provide a private link to the track/transcription on my Soundslice channel, where you can play along with the original track, loop sections, slow down all while seeing the same music/TAB. Soundslice Guitar-Graham.
A typical mix would involve a variety of pieces in different styles and suggestions of any appropriate technical exercises and supporting theory. In time I could include improvisation/composition to follow the student’s interest.
The class will include any technical exercises, music theory and its application, including rhythm exercises. I will also teach you how to create appropriate exercises/drills for particular passages in pieces, whether learning an original or improvising for maximum relevance and efficiency.
At any time curiosity demands more, I’ll be ready to explain/demonstrate as much as you want.
Classes are a minimum of 1 hour.

There are no questions he can't answer and he's also very adaptable to what you as a student might need. Not only that, but he is very attentive to what you do when playing making sure you don't learn poor technique. I highly recommend him as a teacher! Classes with him always fly by!
