About Divij
Hi, I’m Divij, a first-year Dental student at Cardiff University. I decided to teach because I know first-hand how challenging and competitive the journey into Medicine or Dentistry can be, and how valuable it is to have someone who has recently been through the process alongside you.
The application process is constantly changing, so advice from previous years may no longer be relevant. With major recent changes to both the UCAT and personal statement, I believe fresh, up-to-date guidance can make a genuine difference. I see the journey as six crucial stages, each with its own challenges, where getting one stage wrong can have a major impact on the final outcome. I want to help students understand how to approach each one strategically and successfully hurdle them. I help students apply strategically to medical and dental school to maximise their chances of getting an offer- in my own year alone I saw many highly deserving students with high ucat scores fail to secure any offers, I want to help others from falling in those traps.
I’m also very flexible in how I teach. Having previously tutored at Kumon and worked with other students, I understand that everyone learns differently and can adapt my approach accordingly. I also appreciate how busy students are, so I focus on identifying their actual weaknesses rather than wasting valuable time and money covering material they already understand.
My goal is to make the process feel clearer, more manageable and less overwhelming, while giving students practical, current guidance and the confidence to pursue their Medical or Dental school goals.

There is a free 30-Minute Introductory Session where we can discuss your goals, identify where you need the most support, and see how I can help. My lessons are friendly, structured and completely tailored to each student. I understand that students have busy schedules, so I focus on making every session worthwhile rather than spending time on topics they already understand.
My Teaching Approach before starting is to identify the student’s strengths and, more importantly, their actual weaknesses. From there, I can build a focused plan around the areas that will make the biggest difference. Lessons combine clear explanations, worked examples, exam-style questions, active recall and practical techniques, with the approach adapted to each student’s preferred learning style. Having previously tutored at Kumon and worked with individual students, I’m comfortable adapting my teaching to different abilities and personalities. For GCSE students, this means targeted teaching and exam preparation. For UCAT and Medicine/Dentistry applicants, sessions can focus on strategy, university selection, personal statements, interview preparation and navigating each stage of the application process. Lessons are typically 1 hour, with longer sessions available when appropriate. Lessons are online and on zoom. The goal is simple: make every lesson focused, useful and tailored towards helping you achieve your specific goals.
