About Ply
As a Software Engineering student at Lancaster University, I have a strong background in both Mathematics and Computer Science and enjoy helping students build confidence in these subjects. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each individual, whether they need help mastering difficult topics, improving problem-solving skills, or preparing for exams.
I aim to create a friendly, patient, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My lessons focus on developing a genuine understanding of concepts rather than memorising methods, giving students the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems independently.
I am reliable, well-prepared, and committed to helping each student achieve their goals. Whether you're aiming to improve your grades, strengthen your foundations, or challenge yourself beyond the classroom, I'll provide structured lessons and clear explanations to help you succeed.

I tailor every lesson to the student's goals, current ability, and learning style. I begin by identifying areas they find challenging, then explain concepts step by step using clear examples before working through practice questions together. As students become more confident, I encourage them to solve problems independently while I provide guidance and feedback. My focus is on building understanding rather than memorising methods, helping students develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although I can adapt the length if needed. I offer both online and in-person lessons, depending on location and availability.
I aim to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe confidence is just as important as knowledge, so I encourage students to think through problems rather than simply giving them the answers. This helps them become more independent learners and prepares them for exams as well as future study.
My lessons are suitable for secondary school students studying Mathematics or Computer Science, including GCSE, IB, and equivalent qualifications. Whether a student needs support with difficult topics, exam preparation, or wants to deepen their understanding, I adapt each lesson to meet their individual needs.
