About Misbah
I'm an Economics university student with a large passion for maths; I've participated in the United Kingdom Maths Trust competitions since Year 7 which is a program aimed at avid, astute maths students who enjoy complex problem solving. Aside from complicated questions, the competition provided me with critical thinking and logic skills which are applicable to standard mathematics. I firmly believe that beyond arithmetic knowledge, fully understanding logic is valuable to appropriately understand questions.
I want to be able to share some of my insights to studying; critical thinking is a valuable asset to maths that should be provided more thoroughly in tutoring sessions.

I would like to gauge the level at which the student is at by providing them with a test paper to complete for the first session. Once marked, I will have an understanding of which areas for the student to refine and provide them with topic-specific questions. If they are struggling to complete the questions, I would ask them how they would solve it or what next step in the working out they would take.
I'd engage with the students on what they've currently learned in class and how they would prefer to learn; for instance, I am a visual learner so I would illustrate diagrams and questions to better comprehend the questions. I would offer critical feedback and positive reinforcement to keep students engaged and understood of the next step to progress their mathematical studies.
My lessons would be aimed at GCSE students and A-level students who want to reach the top grades and need a boost in polishing their skills. My lessons would take 1 hour and sessions in which I provide an exam paper will take between 1.5-2 hours depending on the level of who I am teaching.
