About Maddie

Hi! I'm Maddie, a 4th year Medical student at a Russell Group University. I teach biology for both GCSE and A-level students. Biology was my favourite subject at school, where I received a 9 at GCSE and A* at A-level, and I am keen to inspire both interest and proficiency in the subject. I have a passion for teaching; I teach English to non-native speaking adults at my university, and I have experience teaching children in various capacities. My experience means I can meet my tutees at whatever stage they are at the moment, and I look forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

As a visual learner myself, I like to virtually draw out concepts and use methods like mind maps and 'blurting' at the end of a lesson to ensure full comprehension, as well as asking the student to recap their understanding to me. I set a small task to do between sessions, something that is not time consuming but will solidify what has been covered. Lessons would be held online and last for an hour each. If learning Biology in this way suits your needs, get in touch with me!
