• 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  During my pre-clinical years, I was taught by Clinical Teaching Fellows who had recently graduated. They made learning practical and approachable, which inspired me to do the same. Since then, I’ve enjoyed helping others understand and enjoy medicine as much as I do.

• 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I teach everything related to medicine — from the application process to clinical knowledge and exam preparation. I particularly enjoy helping students build confidence in applying knowledge to real scenarios. There isn’t really a topic I dislike, but I always prefer interactive, case-based discussions over memorisation.

• 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  My biggest inspiration is my mum, who has always encouraged me to aim high and stay dedicated. Her support and motivation have shaped the way I approach both medicine and teaching.

• 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  Good tutoring requires clear communication, patience, and adaptability. It’s about understanding how each student learns best and creating an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.

• 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  At A-level, I studied two sciences and Ancient History. That mix helped me develop analytical thinking from science and strong writing and reasoning skills from history — both of which have been invaluable in medicine and teaching.

• 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still face in your subject?

  A challenge I faced early in medical school was feeling confident on placement. It can be daunting at first, but I learned that asking questions and being proactive makes a huge difference in how much you learn.

• 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  I’m passionate about both medicine and teaching. I find it very rewarding to help students understand complex topics and see their confidence grow over time.

  I’m passionate about my subject, experienced in teaching both medical school content and applications, and always willing to go the extra mile to help students succeed. I aim to make learning structured, clear, and encouraging for every student I teach.
