About Eric
I have been teaching and tutoring students for seven years at both the Secondary and University level in all aspects (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening) of English as a Second Language, Academic English, Essay Composition, IELTS and TOEFL exam preparation, Accent Reduction, Vocabulary Acquisition, American Literature, etc. This includes tutoring and teaching in the U.S., Saudi Arabia, China, Egypt, and online.
My education includes a Master's degree in TESOL from St. Cloud State University (2019, GPA 3.95), a Bachelor's in International Studies from the University of Wyoming (2013, GPA 4.0), and a Bachelor's in Natural Resources/Recreational Management from the University of Vermont (1995). I have also earned my 60hr. IELTS Teaching Certificate (2019) and my TESOL Certificate (2013),
I am a native English speaker with a neutral northeast (Vermont) accent. I also speak French and Arabic, and currently learning Spanish.

My teaching philosophy is to make the learning experience efficient, enjoyable, and not intimidating. This combined with challenging students with attainable goals further increases their confidence and has proven to be extremely successful. Building a rapport with my students is incredibly important to their learning and I am proud of the fact that I have done so throughout my teaching career. Additionally, being a recent foreign language learner myself has given me first-hand knowledge of the language learning process, the obstacles to overcome through hard work, and the amazing feelings of reward when having done so
