About Phillip
I am a well established writer who has written two literary histories and a memoir. I have published in Harper's Magazine, The American Scholar, The American Poetry Review, and The Times Literary Supplement among other journals. In the process, I have become a literary craftsman capable of passing my skills onto others.

I concentrate on the common techniques for reading a literary, any cultural (broadly conceived, or social science text. A typical lesson would discuss the main idea of a text and the development of that idea in the text. My skill as a tutor lies is my ability to get the student to recognize these elements of a text. My lessons would bek aimed at high school, middle school and college students at all levels.
