About Fareeda
I have taught for over forty years and reached the position of Associate Professor before I gave up full-time teaching. I believe the student is important and requires more personalized instruction rather than the mass teaching that goes on in a class. Each student is an individual with distinct writing needs which I aim to provide support for. I give prompt feedback to writing assignments submitted to me for review.

Prefer to teach academic writing based on assignments submitted to me. I review them and provide extensive feedback on organization, development, grammar and writing mechanics. This is for graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in English courses at college and university. I teach College English online. If I have to teach argumentative writing, a beginning plan would include teaching the five steps to argumentative writing first. these would be as follows:
Step One: Choose a high interest topic...
Step Two: Explicitly teach the difference between claims and opinions...
Step Three: Brainstorm claims, evidence, and warrants...
Step Four: Explicitly teach counterclaims...
Step Five: Get them writing.
I make an effort to diagnose the writing problem areas of each student and practice empathy and understanding.
My lessons are for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in English courses at college/university where they are writing essays, research papers etc.
