About Luke

My name is Luke Simons I am a student at Manchester Metropolitan University currently studying English and Film. I am looking to help GCSE students with English Language and Literature. I am professional and experienced and on average raise grades. In the past i have taken a Year 11 mock grade 2 to a GCSE 7. I also helped an individual go from a Year 10 mock grade U to a GCSE 6.

About the lesson

Online lessons via a “Teams” call where you will complete active revision and learning. Help with GCSE english literature books and with structuring answers. Also, for english language you will learn how to write an effective essay with key points on how to plan and deliver your answer. We will also cover the creative writing section where you will learn how to plan and create an outstanding story. All exam boards are available to learn.

I genuinely cannot recommend Luke highly enough. His passion for the subject is contagious, and he has an incredible ability to explain complex ideas in a way that’s clear, engaging, and easy to understand. Every session is well-structured but still relaxed, which makes learning feel enjoyable rather than overwhelming.

He really takes the time to understand how I learn and tailor lessons to suit me, whether that’s breaking down texts, improving essay structure, or building confidence in analysis. Thanks to Luke’s support, my understanding of English Literature has improved massively, and I feel so much more confident approaching exams and coursework.

If you’re looking for a tutor who is knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your progress, this is the one. An absolute 5-star experience
