About Nia
Teaching connects me to my roots in San Juan where the rhythm of language echoes through vibrant city streets every single day. Helping heritage learners formalize their natural grasp of the language brings such joy because I clearly remember the transition from home usage to academic study. Having earned my BA Modern Languages and Instituto Cervantes Teacher Training, I rely on my 13 years of experience to guide students through the nuances of speech.
My practice as an ACTFL OPI certified oral proficiency tester means I understand exactly what examiners seek during formal evaluations. I focus on verb conjugation, cultural context, and the distinct differences between Latin American and Castilian variants to ensure complete command.
