About Sunila
Yoga teachers training in India and Australia
Teaching in Adelaide for eight years
In 1994 I did my Yoga Certificate Course with a thesis on Emotion culture, from - Vivekananda centre for Yoga studies and research in Bangalore ( India) which is a deemed Yoga university under the guidance of Dr.Nagendra and Dr.Nagaratna.
In September 2010, I completed a YTAA accredited Level 1, Hatha Yoga Instructor course at the Yoga Spirit Studio under the able guidance of Rebecca Richards, a Hathayoga instructor of long standing and good repute. This was over a duration of 14 months and taught and learnt in great depth. The studio is run by Tina Shettigara now.
My Yoga sessions usually have a mix of sitting, standing, prone and supine asanas based on the group and its energy in that particular session with focus on breath and a guided Shavasana or Yoga Nidra with Om chanting at the end. I chant Mantras, so as to utilise the vibrational benefits for the participants and Pranayama is taught regularly too.
Holistic Yoga translated into daily life- would be one of my favourite dreams and hopes for all of us.
