About Juan
I take an approach beyond the typical passive learning: lecturing, showing images, etc. I will work with students to not only learn the material but also how to learn and study according to their style of learning. After going on my own journey of "how to learn," many meetings with my grad school learning specialist, and studying the neurology of learning and neuroplasticity, I am confident in tailoring learning environments to the students' unique needs!

My method of teaching is reinforcing what a student knows while providing different approaches to learning new information through connections to their established knowledge. Typically, I like to start by doing a quick review followed by practice problems, applying knowledge and, and filling in content gaps in REAL TIME. This simulates obstacles they may encounter during exams or assignments, making it a perfect opportunity to practice the material and also critical thinking and problem-solving skills outside of the content.
