About Zeynep
The most renowned harpist in my country (Turkey), I've dedicated my life to the harp, I am the co-founder of Anatolian Harps, the only harp maker in the country. Apart from being a performing professional, teacher, and harp maker, I am a sound engineer who has taught what is to my knowledge the only recording class aimed at harpists specifically.
My background gives me a unique understanding of the instrument with its many faces.
I play and perform with most harps; classical pedal harp, celtic harp, double and triple harp, and medieval. I am a student of the Koto and Guzheng (Japanese and Chinese harp) and wish to one day play every harp in existence.

Students of all levels are welcome for an all rounded learning experience, from an expert in all aspects of the instrument; construction, (physics of) sound, and history. For beginners who have no experience in music, we start playing by ear while learning to read music, one step at a time.
I focus on building a strong technique where you will learn the basis of playing effortlessly, without any discomfort or fatigue. I've taught beginners of all ages, from 5 to 80. Advanced students are welcome to brush up on technique, learn new styles, or simply to get the motivation to continue one week at a time.
As a performer I focus on early music and historical harps, but I've started out studying classical harp and will teach a solid classical technique. I've been in Ireland and learned traditional Irish harp technique as well, though I am not a specialist. I believe in a more flexible approach to the instrument where I can learn from different styles and cultivate my own, but never compromise in getting the best sound out of the instrument, with the least effort.
My aim in teaching is to help you play freely.
