I am a postgraduate student of Asian and Pacific Studies at the ANU. I have an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Warwick (UK). Of the three years of my undergraduate degree, I spent the first two learning Italian before spending the first term of my final year living in Venice. In preparation for this term abroad, I spent two and a half weeks in an Italian family (who spoke very little English) in Viterbo, north of Rome, over the Christmas holidays in 2017/18 and did a month-long intensive Italian language course in a small town in the Veneto region during August of 2018. I was also sent to Florence for dissertation research purposes in February of 2020.
