About Robert
I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis, and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in applied mathematics from Johns Hopkins University. Also, I previously designed and was a teaching assistant for a graduate school level data science class and served as a grader for a pre-calculus course, both at Washington University in St. Louis. I was also a youth summer camp counselor 3 times.

My main teaching method is to keep students engaged by asking them questions about the material after I have presented a particular topic. I also enjoy lecturing but think it is important that students get to practice the material - from my own experience, that has been essential to my understanding of math.

Robert was a developer and then teaching assistant for a new course at Washington University, aimed at bringing incoming doctoral students up to speed on basic data science analysis techniques. Robert was super both at creating materials for these students and at working with them on their assignments. He was patient and supportive and the students responded well to him.
Robert is super nice! He is very patient and gives very detailed answers and feedback to help you really understand the concepts, instead of just giving away an answer. He is really friendly!
