I’ve been working with Shanita for over 6.5 years. When I started, I didn’t have any prior ear or vocal training, and I couldn’t match a note on the keyboard to save my life. Since working with her, my pitch matching has dramatically improved, and I’m now becoming more confident in my ability to find harmonies when I write songs.

She has taught me various vocal techniques, including proper breathing and how to transition between chest voice, head voice, and falsetto, even within the same note or while sustaining longer notes. She has also taught me that there’s a big difference between truly performing a song and simply singing through it to review it.

Shanita is always encouraging during her lessons, but she also isn’t afraid to challenge you and push you outside of your comfort zone to help take you to the next level. Since I started working with her, I’ve gone on to write and record my own original music and regularly perform live. I’ve grown tremendously as both a singer and performer during the years I’ve worked with her, and I’m excited to continue learning from her!

Shanita is an extremely patient and caring teacher who made me feel welcome and comfortable in finding my range and tone in our first lesson. Shanita is a great vocal teacher. She has been giving singing lessons to my 14 year old daughter for the past year.
