Meet Your Instructor — Oxana

I'm an Argentine Tango instructor based in Austin, Texas, with a diverse background in dance, movement, and performing arts.

My dance education includes a Dance Certificate from City College of San Francisco (CCSF), along with training in contemporary dance, ballet, barre, Pilates, and dance conditioning. I've also studied modern dance at LINES Dance Center in San Francisco.

My multidisciplinary background has shaped my unique approach to teaching Argentine Tango. I combine the elegance and artistry of tango with a strong understanding of body mechanics, alignment, coordination, and movement quality.

I'm particularly passionate about helping dancers discover their natural elegance, improve their technique, and develop confidence in their own movement. I believe that great dancing is not about memorizing complicated steps — it's about understanding your body, connecting with music, and expressing yourself authentically.

As an instructor, I'm patient, attentive, and detail-oriented. I enjoy breaking down complex movements into clear, manageable steps and adapting my teaching to each student's abilities, experience, and personal goals.

Whether you're taking your very first steps in Argentine Tango or looking to refine your technique as an experienced dancer, my goal is to help you become a more confident, expressive, and technically skilled dancer.

Discover Argentine Tango Through Movement, Technique & Expression

My teaching approach combines Argentine Tango with professional training in ballet, contemporary dance, barre, and dance conditioning. I believe that beautiful, confident dancing begins with body awareness, strong technique, musicality, and freedom of movement.

My Teaching Method

Each lesson is personalized to your experience, goals, and individual needs. Rather than simply memorizing steps, you'll learn to understand how your body moves, develop better coordination, and build a solid technical foundation.

A typical 60-minute lesson may include:

-Warm-Up & Conditioning: Exercises to improve posture, alignment, balance, mobility, and strength.
- Tango Technique: Walking, pivots, ochos, dissociation, footwork, and movement quality.
- Musicality & Expression: Connecting movement with rhythm, phrasing, and the character of the music.
- Practical Application: Personalized combinations, choreography, or focused exercises to reinforce what you've learned.
