About Alejandra
I am an artist looking to share my love for painting and skills with someone else! My preferred mediums are acrylic, charcoal, and ink; but I have experience with oil, pastels, and pencil too!
I am currently doing an MA in Filmmaking at Goldsmiths University, but I have always been a painter. My work has been exhibited in numerous occasions in exhibitions around London, and now I've been commissioned for my first international exhibition in Athens in 2020.
I have a foundation diploma from UAL in Art and Design, a BA in Film studies from King's College London.

About the lesson

The first session I would asses the level of the student, and work with them a strategy and a curriculum.
For inexperienced students, I would start with the basics, by doing exercises with pencil, training the arm muscles to control the pulse is essential.
I would include exercises that focus on still life, to train the eye and the memory. With pencil and charcoal, with different time restrictions. The shorter the exercises the better, as the student learns to let go and gains confidence by losing the fear of making something that does not look perfect. In 30 second exercises, there's no time for perfection!
We would introduce materials as we go along. Pencil and charcoal first (which are super cheap!), and later on we would start with color. I would include a session on color, to introduce the student to the color wheel and color theories. Then we would experiment with color to make the student develop their own taste and palette, every artist has their own favorite colors.
Once we are ready to move forward, we would include wet materials. Life drawing sessions can be arranged at this point, for an extra cost.
