Amritha is an excellent music teacher. She is patient, encouraging, and always pays attention to the details. Whenever I make a mistake, she kindly corrects me and explains how to improve. She has helped me develop better breath control, which has greatly improved my singing skills. Her teaching style is both professional and inspiring, making every class enjoyable and productive. I had my free trial lesson with Amritha over the weekend and my first official lesson today, and I couldn't be more impressed with her teaching approach. I wanted to start voice training after a long gap and found Amritha’s account on Instagram. I decided to give it a go and it’s been wonderful so far. She’s very versatile and has taught me different kinds of songs. She looks for perfection and the attention she gives to small details are great. Amritha in addition to her amazing singing skills is also an expert teacher who can keep her student motivated. Her ability to tune into to what the student wants, and how to keep the class engaging is just amazing. Her rigorous focus on correctness and ensuring the foundations are solidly laid is key for any aspiring student.

Here are some examples for perspective:
Initially we did a lot of practice on getting the swara sthanams dialed in. With alankarams we are also focusing on the aakarams so the concepts and syllable positions with thalam are deeply embedded.

Sometimes in the class - we have switched around the order of lessons to keep it from becoming tedious. Additionally, her voice notes for offline hearing, working through different pitches, and repeated feedback on the higher notes are super helpful in our daily practices. Currently we are working on building our own music with swarms and thalam combinations.

Amritha has also been extremely generous in sharing her knowledge and experiences with me during the class so I can help my daughter with her practices offline.

Amritha is such a great teacher, someone who focuses on small details, corrections and teaches patiently how to sing the nuances in Carnatic. She really puts emphasis on the 'essence' of the raagam being sung, while also teaching technique e.g breathing.
I've never had such an amazing teacher before, someone who has helped me improve in a way I have been proud of. Her own music and songs are always playing when I listen to music and she makes class a comfortable, warm, fun place to be, still being strict when necessary. Singing class is a place you cannot wait to go back to.

I found Amritha on teachers.com website and knew straight away that I wanted to learn from someone which her experience and expertise. I messaged and she was understanding when I explained my basic understanding of Carnatic music. She straightaway started me on the right track and each lesson she delivers is progressively moving in the right direction as I can already see the difference in my singing.
