About Samim

I am an Assistant Professor, a dedicated and passionate computer science enthusiast specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). With a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from VIT Vellore, I have consistently demonstrated my expertise through various projects, internships, and part-time roles. My professional journey includes a part-time role as a Prompt Engineer at Soul AI, where I enhanced AI model performance through meticulous prompt engineering. During my internship at S.M. Group Technologies, I developed responsive websites that significantly boosted user engagement and sales. My technical repertoire spans multiple programming languages including Python, C, C++, and Java, and I am proficient in tools and frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, MySQL, and Oracle. I have a robust understanding of data structures, algorithms, and operating systems, which I continuously apply to my current projects. I am proud of my achievements, including securing an All India Rank of 200 in VITMEE and serving as a Department Program Representative. My commitment to continuous learning is evident through my completion of various courses on Coursera and LinkedIn Learning, covering topics from Python to Generative AI. Currently, I am delving into open-source models with Hugging Face, LangChain for LLM application development, and expanding my skills in machine learning, data science, and generative AI with Python. My projects, such as the Automated Descriptive Answer Evaluation System and a GPT-based Travel App, reflect my ability to combine technical expertise with innovative solutions. Explore my GitHub for more projects and feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn. I am excited about the future of AI and ML and am eager to contribute to advancements in these fields while imparting my knowledge to aspiring professionals in the realm of computer science.

As an assistant professor at G H Raisoni International Skill Tech University in Computer Science and Engineering, I leverage my strong programming expertise and solid foundation in mathematics to deliver effective lessons designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking amongst my students. Here's an outline of my approach as a teacher:

Teaching Techniques and Methods:

Active learning: Engaging students in activities like coding exercises, group discussions, quizzes, and hands-on projects helps them grasp complex concepts more effectively than passive listening.
Problem-based learning: Presenting real-life challenges encourages students to apply theoretical knowledge creatively, enhancing comprehension and retention.
Collaborative learning: Promoting peer interactions during pair programming sessions strengthens social bonds and improves communication skills essential for successful teamwork later on.
Gamification: Introducing game elements in assignments and competitions makes learning enjoyable and motivates students to strive harder.
Visualizations: Using diagrams, graphs, flowcharts, and animations clarifies abstract ideas, appealing to visual learners and facilitating faster understanding.
Class Structure:
A typical class consists of three main segments:

Review/Recap (10%): Briefly discussing previous material reinforces prior learning and highlights connections between new and existing knowledge.
Lecture/Demonstration (70%): Delivering content through engaging presentations, live coding examples, interactive Q&As, and multimedia resources ensures varied pacing catering to multiple learning styles.
Practicals/Hands-On Exercises (20%): Students work independently or collaborate on practice problems, enabling immediate application of acquired skills under guidance when needed.
Special Features:

Adaptive Instruction: Customizing lesson plans according to individual needs enables every student to maximize their learning potential.
Regular Feedback: Timely constructive criticism fosters steady growth, addressing misconceptions before they become ingrained errors.
Availability Outside Classroom: Maintaining open office hours allows students to seek assistance beyond scheduled meetings, ensuring ongoing support.
Real-World Connections: Relating technical concepts to practical applications showcases relevancy and sparks interest.
Emphasis on Best Practices: Stressing clean code principles, version control usage, documentation habits, and testing methodologies promotes professionalism and long-term sustainability.
Intended Audience:
My classes are primarily aimed at college-level students enrolled in computer science programs; however, some modules may also benefit adult learners looking to acquire or upgrade their computing skills. Regardless of age or experience, my goal remains consistent - empowering individuals with computational literacy required to excel academically, professionally, and personally.
