About Jaya
I have been teaching ESL in Brisbane, Adelaide, Darwin and the Gold Coast (from 2019 to 2025). Before this, I taught in three private schools overseas, plus gave lessons to many private students online and in-person; worked with 2nd-language students in United Arab Emirates for 3.5 years; and have taught in Taiwanese and Thai public and private schools (kindergarten babies right through to adults). I continue to teach privately with Zoom online to both international and national students. Students move forward steadily, even quickly, dependent on how dedicated they are to daily/weekly consistent effort - a fast-learning student can use a 'slow' brain, and, 100% dedication! Methodology: I teach English from the foundation of phonic understanding, so the student learns how to read, write and speak clearly, the English language. I enjoy working on conversational practice, as well as greatly improved reading habits. I assist to improve a student's confidence for IELTS tests. Background: I have a TESOL III qualification (to Canadian standards) with a total of twelve years of international teaching experience in private and vocational colleges; plus private tutoring online via Zoom call. I recently completed a two-year tenure teaching ESL at a large vocational college in Brisbane City; whilst continuing to tutor privately online from home. Perfect! Jaya is a passionate teacher, She always share her music and life experience in the class which also helps me to talk more into the conversation. Details
Availability 2025 for online Zoom call tuition: I am almost fully booked on Saturday evenings (the most busy time), but there is still one 75-minute slot available from 8.30pm - contact Jaya for availability. Wednesday and Thursday evenings are still open - 6.00 pm-9:00 pm. LESSONS MUST BE KEPT AS CONSECUTIVE ONCE BOOKED - one lesson missed is counted as one lesson paid unless student is proven to be in hospital.
