About Kiya
Hey, I'm Kiya. Here's a little about me to see if there's a vibe match between me and you. I think it's important to have a tutor you can relate to or feel comfortable around. I was that shy kid so I get it. Music played a huge role in my life since the age of seven. My first instrument was the violin, and I completed Grade Six in my early teens. I attended music school on the weekends in Amersham and had fun being in different orchestras, bands and choirs. I also hold a Grade Six in Piano and Music Theory, and have dabbled in a few other instruments. I love all things creative - I am quite musical, and love writing, and photography and attempting to be artsy. I think it's healthy to balance your academics with something quirky. I am a very visual and hands-on learner so our lessons will be conversational based and focused on applying knowledge. I love learning and I miss immersing myself in academia and having a nerdy time with like-minded souls. This is one of my driving factors to tutor. It's also a bonus watching someone flourish and unlock their potential in the right environment.

I struggled to fit into the traditional methodologies used at school. I strongly believe it is important to grasp the why and how of concepts, and ask questions to unlock academic potential within us all. I am a hands-on tutor. Our lessons will be conversational, and we will work through questions and concepts together visually. I will tailor lessons to your needs, and provide my suggestions too, and where required assist with timetabling. Everyone’s attention span is different – I would recommend an hour’s lesson for starters.
