About Beatriz
Portuguese and Linguistics have been my subject of study for over 10 years as a BA and MA. As a teacher and instructor, I have gathered experience teaching diverse profiles of people, such as consular officers, expats, exchange students and also took part in a Portuguese (BR) course for refugees. I often bring a context through authentic material to address a grammatical topic and practice conversation, aiming to understand and meet each student's demands and objectives. In my lessons, I aim to a flexible, entertaining and meaningful approach to the Portuguese language.

Olá! Meu nome é Beatriz, I am originally from São Paulo, but I have lived for over a year in Porto Alegre, RS and I also lived in Oulu, Finland for an exchange semester in 2013. I enjoy learning languages and backpacking, cold weather (only when it is luxury cold like in Finland), nice beer and and meeting tolerant, open-minded people. I can speak Portuguese (mother tongue), English, intermediate Spanish (help me with that!), survival Finnish (I am a hopeless case) and would love to start learning German, but I haven't gone much farther than listening to Rammstein and Die Toten Hosen.
