About Ashley Harris
As a future educator, I'm extremely excited to have this opportunity to connect with more students and help them reach their educational and personal goals. During my time in teachers college I was lucky enough to have great experiences with my students and provide them with engaging interactive lessons that they loved. It's very important to me to get to know my students and establish a connection in order for learning to take place in an environment where the student can feel capable and confident.

As a tutor I pride myself in getting to know my students, I take the time to learn their interests and abilities to properly engage and support them.
A typical lesson will start with a simple warm up exercise, such as a riddle or problem, to get us in the right mindset for learning. I also try to incorporate the students interests into the lessons in order to keep them more engaged. During the bulk of the lesson we will focus on a set goal for the day and complete activities centred around that goal. At the end of the lesson we will wrap up with a culminating activity, referring back to the goal, to see if we were successful in meeting it.
My lessons will mostly benefit students from grades 1-10.
