About Sofia
I am a people-oriented person who loves to see the people around me succeed. Tutoring at university was a truly amazing experience as I felt a massive wave of pride every time my students comprehended a difficult concept. The semester I taught, our course received the highest SECaT (student feedback) score in the history of the course, and my personal score was 9.07/10, with the average being 7. I would love an opportunity to apply my teaching skills at a larger scale, and see more students crush their academic goals.

I believe that the best way to learn is by doing. I will structure lessons around practice problems, and explain relevant theory in a way that is immediately applicable to exam-style questions. I believe maths and science are all about those precious "aha" moments, and will make sure students can arrive at the answer by understanding the core of the problem.
I recommend 1.5-2 hour lessons, depending on the subject. My tutoring experience includes teaching a first-year Biomedical Engineering course at UQ as a tutor, as well as private tutoring to primary school children.
My preference is senior high school students in preparation for final exams, however all ages are welcome.
