About Gus
Music has been my life since I was a small child. Do you ever wonder how to balance technical precision with the pure joy of playing? My teaching style focuses on tuning by ear, tone production, rhythm, and timing to help you grow.
I also cover vibrato, bowing technique, and orchestral playing alongside grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity. With 13 years of experience and a supportive approach, I guide students through ear training and nuanced techniques like spiccato and staccato bowing. I have taught many pupils over my career and I look forward to meeting you soon.

Pacing remains the most difficult part of teaching. Sometimes I feel like a conductor trying to keep every student in perfect sync.
I utilize my background from the Australian National Academy of Music to break down complex movements into smaller steps. I offer recorded playback of tricky passages for your home practice.
This ensures you can review the mechanics of tone production on your own. My degree helps me simplify challenging concepts for any level.
I rely on 13 years of experience to keep the mood light during drills. We focus on clarity above all else. Learning should always feel like a creative victory.
