About Ivy
As a Spanish tutor with more than 9 years of experience and a BSc in Mathematics with Actuarial Science, I have helped many heritage speakers strengthen their Spanish. I focus on turning conversational ability into full fluency by building grammar and writing skills. Academic writing and vocabulary expansion play a big role in my lessons, giving learners the tools to succeed in both study and work. I use interactive strategies that make grammar and structure easier to understand. At the same time, I introduce cultural contexts from across the Spanish-speaking world. This helps students not only learn the language but also understand its richness and diversity. My approach is gentle and encouraging, creating a safe space to practice and grow. I am sensitive to the identity struggles heritage speakers sometimes face, and I provide consistent feedback to boost confidence. I design each lesson to be clear, engaging, and motivating.
