About Zifa
My name is Zifa, I'm a young saxophone, flute and clarinet player based in Reservoir! I play in a variety of jazz, rock, and fusion bands and especially enjoy improvising and composing horn lines. I've been playing wind instruments since I was 10. My teaching approach mainly focuses on encouraging students to actively engage with music through playing by ear, improvising and understanding harmony, but can be tailored to suit individual students' interests and abilities.

I teach mainly popular styles and jazz (or AMEB) with a focus on listening, improvising, and creative practice. I think music should be something my students enjoy before anything else. I typically teach 30-45 minute lessons weekly but am flexible to other arrangements. I am happy to teach anyone 7 years and up, beginner and intermediate ability levels! I am a current music student at the Victorian College of the Arts and have been playing woodwinds for 8 years.
