About Stephen
I have been teaching acoustic guitar, percussion, ukulele and piano at the North Bay School of Music in Canada, Ontario for three years. With a heavy focus on Music Theory, I focus on the aspects that my students are most interested in. Currently, I am enrolled in the Education program at Nipissing University with hopes to become a full-fledged Health & Physical educator and Music teacher at the senior level.

I base my classes on a pre-organized template.
The first five minutes focus on a warm-up specific to the lesson.
The next 15 minutes involve practice from past lessons & diving into new concepts and techniques.
The next 5 minutes focus on one of three aspects of practice: music theory, ear training or sight reading.
And finally, whats music if we can't have a little bit of fun with it? The last 5 minutes are strictly reserved for whatever my students choose.
My lessons are dependent on the skill level of my students. Every student is unique in their form of learning and when I gain a new student, I am willing to take the time to consider what type of learner they are, and how I can effectively teach a lesson for them.
If you're a student who intends to regularly partake in lessons, I would suggest considering investing in the Hal Leonard book series (books 1-3 depending on skill level). Otherwise, I am capable of adapting to any guitar book you might have already purchased.
