About Benit
Hi, I’m Benit! I’m currently studying Nursing and have always had a strong passion for Biology and learning. I achieved Excellence throughout my high school Biology studies, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping other students become more confident in a subject that I genuinely enjoy.
Outside of studying, I like to keep a good balance between academics and the things I enjoy. I’m a big fan of reading, cooking and playing badminton, and I believe having interests outside of school is an important part of maintaining a healthy and balanced student life.
As a tutor, I’m friendly, patient and approachable. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I take the time to understand what each student finds difficult and adapt my teaching style accordingly. I want my lessons to feel comfortable and encouraging, where students can ask questions without feeling embarrassed or pressured.
Whether you are struggling with Biology, trying to improve your grades, preparing for an assessment or aiming for Excellence, I’m committed to helping you reach your goals. My aim is not just to help students get the right answers, but to help them genuinely understand the content and become more confident, independent learners.

About my lessons
I’m a friendly, approachable and passionate Biology tutor who understands that Biology can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when there is a lot of content to learn. My goal is to make Biology simple, understandable and enjoyable while helping students build confidence and achieve the grades they are capable of.
I achieved Excellence throughout my high school Biology studies, giving me a strong understanding of the NCEA Biology curriculum and what is required to achieve at a high level. I am currently studying Nursing, where Biology and human science continue to be an important part of my studies, allowing me to further develop and apply my knowledge.
I tutor students across NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3 Biology and tailor each lesson to the individual student. Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, catching up on missed content, preparing for an assessment, or aiming for Merit or Excellence, I can adapt my teaching to suit your needs.
My teaching approach focuses on understanding rather than simply memorizing information. I break complicated biological concepts into smaller, easy-to-understand ideas and use diagrams, examples, practice questions, active recall and exam-style questions to help students retain information and apply their knowledge.
For NCEA students, I can also provide support with understanding achievement standards, interpreting questions, structuring answers and developing the level of detail required for Merit and Excellence. I want students to understand not only what the answer is, but why it is the answer.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged when appropriate. I’m happy to work with students of different ages and abilities, from those who need help understanding the basics to students who want to push themselves towards Excellence.
Most importantly, I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Whether you need help catching up, preparing for an assessment, revising for exams or simply want to become more confident in Biology, I’m here to help you reach your academic goals.
