About Vasilis
Having been trained in Classical as well as Western Contemporary Music, with a Diploma in Music Education and Private Studio Teaching at Berklee College of Music, I have a strong knowledge of higher music education, and classroom instruction, for all student age groups. Holding a Degree in Primary Education, I have ten years of experience working as a music teacher, instructing music theory/ear training, string instruments, percussion, and piano lessons, various music genres, music improvisation, stage performance, and ensemble music classes, at the International Youth Band Festival in Greece, and at various elementary schools and music conservatories in Greece and the US. In addition, I have worked as a music director/teacher/chief of stuff, for seven years at summer camps and music schools in Greece and the US, where I instructed group rehearsals, world music, string instruments, percussion, and piano lessons, performance, as well as music improvisation and showmanship. Lastly, I have over fifteen years of experience in performance as a professional electric bassist, and classical/electric/acoustic guitarist, having performed and toured in concert venues and festivals in Europe and the US, with various multi-genre artists and bands.

I enjoy a lot working with students, providing additional educational material, improving pupils’ weak points, trying to be creative as much as possible and gradually learning from them. My methodology includes music theory, ear training, improvisation, various techniques, and, in general, a love and respect for every music genre. Students are the future, they inspire me and I learn so many things from their diverse personalities. The teaching experience has been and will always be a very important part of my life.
