About Tom
Teaching-artist, Tom Stroll——Director at MindfulMusicLessons.ORG——is a Singer-Songwriter, CLASSICALLY-trained VIOLINIST & JAZZ-trained SAXOPHONIST, who studied PIANO & earned his bachelor’s in music theory & composition at NYU and has taught over a dozen instruments:
VOICE, STRINGS, HORNS, PERCUSSION, & PIANO!
Stroll has played in rock bands, jazz bands, choirs, musical theater troupes, symphonic orchestras, as well as produced & co-wrote alternative pop rock records.
Stroll draws on a vast range of experience in film, tv, apps, games, web dev, print, radio, cooking, athletics, & theater to share BIG ideas SIMPLY, & in different ways so you (or your child) not only HEAR, but also UNDERSTAND, & REMEMBER the music/topic.

Tom Stroll is my violin instructor and he is a patient and kind person. He is also a proficient instructor, talented at playing and teaching many instruments. He figures out the best ways to help new musicians learn the instrument. I highly recommend!

What I like about working with Tom is the environment he’s created during his lessons. I was a complete beginner when I started learning guitar with Tom, but he’s really encouraged me to try new things and to ask questions. I feel like I’m being pushed in the right direction without it being overwhelming. Now, after about 2 months, when I sit down with my guitar outside of our lessons I feel confident in what I’m playing. And if I don’t at first, I know I can figure it out!

I don't know if it's weird for me say, but I really enjoyed hearing some of your work. I always admired your musical talent! If anyone I know needs some original music for something, I'll definitely point them your way.Tom gave me a sense of direction not just on trumpet technique, but also what it takes to improvise. He is an incredibly patient and knowledgeable instructor and I really enjoyed my lessons with him!
