About Sherry
The reason I chose to teach the Bible is not because I have a degree in Bible Philosophy from some fancy university but because I have practically seen hundreds, if not thousands of lives transformed by this amazing book and I truly believe that I have a special gift from God to make even the most difficult theological aspects of the Bible seem easy and practical to those who are hungry to learn. I have taught in multiple churches, in cities and villages, among the poor and the rich and across all age groups. I take my Bible very seriously and I am on a mission to make the Bible fun, interesting and life-changing to every reader. All I desire is a PhD. from those who want to join my Bible Study, P stands for Passionate, H stands for Hungry and D stands for Driven. I believe there are no bad students but only bad teachers. The reason I say this is because a good teacher is not someone who can teach deep revelations, carry unlimited charisma or having fluency in language but one who can get down to level of their students to understand their pace and grasping ability and then formulate a fun, easy to understand and engaging interaction with their students.
- Break the ice and build trust would be the first step. Understanding the student and how much they know and what areas in the Bible they struggle with if any and their core interest in why they want to study the Bible.
- I approach my teaching plan based on the need of the students. If there is nothing in particular, then I do have a couple of basic foundational themes which will help the students to have a basic understanding of what they are getting themselves into. Once they are familiar with the spiritual foundational topics, I would approach my teachings covering every single book of the Bible in detail and at the same time have the students engage in practical assignments.
- What sets me apart from other tutors is that I do not take the usual, methodical approach to Bible Study as most tutors do but rather make sure that there is a deeper engagement, mentally and spiritually, than just reading a book.
- I believe that the Bible is one book that caters to all age groups but I would prefer teaching the Bible to those who have attained maturity, that is above the age of 14. I am more than willing to teach the Bible to those seeking deeper revelations but even to those who have no degrees, no certification but only a deep hunger for the Word of God.
