About Karina
I am a certified 2nd grade teacher with experience creating engaging, supportive, and structured learning environments for young learners. I earned my degree from Appalachian State University, where I developed a strong foundation in child development, instructional strategies, and differentiated teaching practices.
I am committed to helping students build confidence and achieve academic success through clear, patient, and individualized instruction. My approach focuses on meeting each student at their level, identifying their strengths, and guiding them step by step toward mastery of key skills in reading, writing, math, and language development.
As a bilingual educator in English and Spanish, I am able to support a diverse range of learners and create an inclusive learning environment where students feel understood and encouraged. I use a mix of guided practice, hands-on activities, and real-life examples to make learning meaningful and easy to understand. Each lesson ends with a short check for understanding or reflection to ensure the student feels confident before moving forward.
What sets me apart is my experience as a 2nd grade teacher and my ability to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel supported and motivated. I know how to break down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps and adjust my teaching to meet each student where they are.
