About Bella
Hi! I’m a friendly and approachable high school student who genuinely enjoys helping others learn. I’m bilingual in Mandarin and English, and I’ve always been someone people come to when they need things explained clearly or want help studying in a fun and stress-free way. I bring a lot of positive energy and patience to every session. I believe that learning should be engaging, supportive, and something you look forward to—not something that feels overwhelming. Whether you’re preparing for a test, trying to understand new material, or just want a tutor who makes things simpler and more enjoyable, I’m here to help. Outside of tutoring, I’m involved in student leadership, I love organizing events, and I really enjoy learning about health, science, and languages. I’m always open to working with students of different ages and skill levels, and I do my best to adapt to each person’s pace and style of learning. As a bilingual Mandarin-English tutor, I specialize in teaching beginner-level students who are just starting their journey with Chinese. Whether you’re in elementary school, middle school, or simply looking to explore a new language, my lessons are designed to make learning fun, interactive, and stress-free.
I use a student-centered approach that focuses on real-life communication, cultural context, and building confidence from day one. A typical lesson includes vocabulary games, pronunciation practice, short dialogues, and fun activities like drawing characters, matching words, or using songs and videos to reinforce learning. I also use flashcards, quizzes, and role-play to help students remember new words and phrases in a playful way.
What sets me apart is my energy and ability to connect with younger learners. I make lessons feel like play, not work—while still making sure each session builds toward meaningful progress. I believe in learning through encouragement and engagement, not memorization and pressure.
My goal is to make every student feel excited to learn Mandarin, even if it’s their first time hearing the language.
