About Kylie
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with experience in translation and interpretation and I am currently working on my Master of Science in Education focusing on adult learning and leadership building. Teaching languages has always been a part-time passion of mine that I want to focus more time on now. I work full-time in higher education at a private liberal arts college. I have been teaching Spanish to children for over 5 years and ELL classes to adults for over 2 years. I have taught Spanish and ELL classes in group settings and also taught ELL in one-on-one settings.

My teaching method focuses on play-based learning for children that is very interactive and engaging. When I teach adults I ensure that the topics are relevant to what someone will need to get by in everyday life. I ask adults what their goals are and how they want to be able to use the language and why they are learning. I believe in a positive, empowering teaching environment that builds confidence in each student. I also firmly believe in acknowledging effort and comprehension over perfect grammar when it comes to conversation practice.
