About Jeremy
I'm a clinical research scientist and professional tutor based in New York City. I hold a B.S. in Neuroscience and an M.S.P.H. from Tulane University, and I'm currently completing a master's degree in Biostatistics at Brown University.
I've tutored professionally at four learning centers — Huntington, Sylvan, Oxford Learning, and Lindamood-Bell — most recently at Huntington here in New York in 2024. At Lindamood-Bell I worked with students who have autism, ADHD-related processing challenges, central auditory processing disorder, and dyslexia, so I'm comfortable with students who learn differently and have found the standard classroom approach frustrating.
Outside of tutoring, I manage clinical trials for medical devices and neuroscience programs. I've spent thirteen years turning complicated science into something a non-specialist can follow — that's most of my job. I'm also a published researcher and presented abstracts at national conferences.
I work with middle school, high school, and college students, and with adults returning to school.

I start by finding out where the gap actually is. Most students who are struggling in chemistry aren't struggling with chemistry — they're struggling with the algebra underneath it, or with a concept from six weeks ago that never got solid. The first session is diagnostic, and it's usually the most valuable one.
From there I teach by working problems together rather than lecturing. I'll explain a concept, then hand the next one to you and stay quiet while you think. I don't give answers away — I ask the question that gets you unstuck, which is a slower path and a much more durable one.
I adapt pacing to the student. Some people need to move fast and get bored otherwise. Some need to sit with one idea until it clicks. Both are fine.
