About Shannon
Hello!
My name is Shannon, and I'm a science communicator, tutor and presenter based in Hertfordshire.
After completing my BSc in Biology, I found myself working in cybersecurity for tech and finance companies. However, I decided to leave these jobs to pursue my passion for science communication - completing my MSc from Imperial College London this September.
Having an academic background in science communication, I value conversation and a practical approach to science tutoring. I aim to give my students the tools they need to fully engage with and enjoy science - I find this usually leads to better exam results too.

As a science presenter and trained communicator, I believe having a strong conceptual understanding of science (more so than just factual recall) is crucial for not only passing exams but for creating the foundation for students to enjoy, engage and excel in the sciences.
I can teach Biology up to A level, and science/maths from KS2 to GCSE
My lessons are usually hour - but can be flexible depending on the student.
I am currently working as a Science Presenter and travelling around schools in Hertfordshire (KS2) - and also part-time as an undergraduate tutor for Kings College London.
I am also happy to tutor undergraduate science students in Science communication
