About Micah
I am a dedicated and professional biology tutor with a strong academic foundation and hands-on clinical experience. I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2025 with a degree in Psychology and was honored to be on the Dean’s List for seven out of eight semesters. My academic success reflects my commitment to learning, consistency, and attention to detail—qualities I bring to every tutoring session.
I am currently taking a gap year to gain patient and clinical experience while preparing to apply to Physician Assistant school. During this time, I have worked as a medical assistant in a private psychiatry practice, where I support both patients and healthcare providers in clinical and administrative settings. This experience has strengthened my professionalism, communication skills, and ability to explain complex biological concepts clearly and accurately.
As a tutor, I am patient, organized, and dependable. I take a supportive and encouraging approach, creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I value clear communication, punctuality, and preparation, and I tailor each session to meet the individual needs and goals of my students.

My approach as a biology tutor is centered on clarity, patience, and real understanding rather than memorization. I believe biology makes the most sense when students understand the why behind the concepts, so I focus on breaking down complex topics into simple, logical steps and connecting them to real-life examples whenever possible. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning preferences, whether they learn best through visuals, repetition, practice questions, or discussion.
I use a combination of guided explanations, visual aids, practice questions, and active recall to reinforce learning. I encourage students to explain concepts back in their own words, which helps identify gaps in understanding and builds confidence. When appropriate, I connect biological concepts to real-world medical or health-related examples, making the material more engaging and easier to remember.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in to identify what the student is currently working on and where they feel confused. We then review key concepts step-by-step, using diagrams, analogies, and examples to simplify difficult material. I incorporate practice questions or problem-solving throughout the lesson and end with a brief summary and study tips the student can use independently. Lessons are flexible and tailored to homework help, exam preparation, or concept review.
