About Iona
I am currently working towards my undergrad degree in biomedical sciences. In the future, I would like to do a master's more specifically in the area of neuroscience as I would like to work as a researcher in this field. I have a younger brother who has just finished his GCSEs and I really enjoyed helping him with his science subjects. I have experience teaching children in the sporting sense as I have worked as a swim teacher for 4 years. I myself received 40 points overall at IB and 7 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s at GCSE. I am very patient and understanding that everyone works differently and I feel that some of the skills I have gained working with children of all ages can be transferred to a tutoring scenario.

I am a second year biomedical sciences student at the University of York. I feel I am well equipped to teach biology, chemistry and PE at GCSE having achieved 7 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s. However, having completed the IB myself and receiving 40 points overall with a 7 in chemistry and a 6 in biology, this is where I feel I can provide the most knowledge. I will offer 60 minute sessions in which we can break down content, go through exam questions and look over IAs (coursework). I also am able to help with extended essays in the science subjects. My personal EE was a world studies (biology and psychology) looking at the extent to which bilingualism delays Alzheimer's disease, for which I received an A. I am well prepared for lessons and very punctual and I understand the pressures of the IB workload and aim to help where I can.
