About Tom
I am a recently graduated student from the University of Birmingham. My passion is biology, however I also completed A-levels in maths and Chemistry so I am confident in teaching these subjects up to a GCSE level. I was awarded 4A*s, 6As for my GCSEs, and an A in biology A-Level. I have 12 months experience as a full-time English teacher in Sri Lanka and Thailand, earning me a TESOL qualification. This has given me to confidence in developing my communication and lesson delivery.

Through my teaching experience, I have learnt the importance of pupil engagement, and I aim to reflect this in my lessons. Sessions are friendly and flexible, yet focused. Once I have comprehensively explained a topic, there will be plenty of opportunity to apply concepts taught to practice questions, for which I will give immediate feedback. I believe the key to achieving good grades is to understand topics thoroughly, and not just through memorising textbooks.
