About Yijun
Hello! My name is Yijun Chen, and I am thrilled to be your Mandarin teacher. I was born and raised in the vibrant city of Beijing, where I developed a deep appreciation for the rich culture and language of China. After completing my education, I graduated from Columbia University, where I majored in TESOL and TCSOL, earning certificates that validate my expertise in teaching English to speakers of other languages and teaching Chinese to non-native speakers. With five years of teaching experience, I have had the pleasure of working with students of all levels. I've given lessons to undergraduates as well as professors at Columbia University. I am passionate about helping students of all age groups achieve their language goals, whether they are preparing for travel, business, exams, or personal enrichment. Currently, I work as an English teacher at a university in Beijing, where I continue to share my love for language and culture with my students. I believe that language learning should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment in my classes.
