About Alberto
I work at the British Museum across different projects, capturing the collection to make it available to a larger public. I taught general, studio and archaeological Photography and Photoshop to dozens of students of any level, sharing the passion and the technical know-how that go into a picture you'll cherish forever. With a background in analogue photography and darkroom printing, I freelance for the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and private clients as objects and portrait photographer and recently started experimenting with cyanotypes. Expertise includes Portrait, Landscape, Object and Travel Photography, Image Editing and Teaching.

The first step is always assessing what your goals are. Don't worry if you don't exactly know, it is normal at this stage. I will help you to figure it out. If you are just starting, five to ten lessons will give you a good understanding of the basics and you'll be ready to confidently continue on your own. Whether you are taking a snapshot of your granny or if you are doing Astrophotography for NASA, the building blocks of photography are the same. Each class starts with a clear presentation of what will be achieved on the day and why. I like breaking down photography into simple units that can easily be understood and practised. Lessons are very hands-on and all topics are explained, discussed and then tried on camera, so you can familiarise yourself with both the concepts and the medium at the same time, having fun and not having to learn tons of notions by heart. This also means you'll improve quickly and get a nice boost in your confidence. I leave plenty of time for questions and revising and hand out PowerPoint presentations, examples and resources that you can go back to after class. Not all topics necessitate a full lesson and we can decide together how best to invest your time, depending on your interests. Here is a breakdown of the main topics I teach: -Exposure -Aperture and control of blur -Shutter Speed and how to capture movement -ISO: camera sensor (or film) sensitivity to light -Lenses: different ones for different aims -How light works: getting to know it, kinds of light and practical applications (daily light, harsh/soft light, contrast etc.) -Flashlight, strobes and light modifiers -Other equipment and their use: tripod, filters, light modifiers -Photo-walk: putting into practice what we are learning and applying theory to real life scenarios -Genre specific: Portrait, Landscape, Street, Travel Photography etc. -How to pose your subject -Long Exposure and ND filters -Editing and retouching your pictures (Adobe Suite) -History of Photography and photographers you should know -Film: black and white, colour negatives, colour positives (a.k.a. slides), infrared, etc. -Film processing and darkroom printing

Masters his profession, and skillful tutor
Alberto is an amazing photographer. He is a very good teacher, and has taught many students.
I met Alberto in July 2018 when he taught us photography at the British Museum. I greatly benefited from his instruction. I was able to learn a lot from the ground up and document my work professionally.
Alberto is a great teacher - my friend got me 2 lessons with him as a birthday present, and I enjoyed them so much I decided to continue studying with him.
Alberto’s very thorough, and his lessons are super interesting, a mixture of theory and practise, so I felt super engaged at all times. And he always encouraged me to have fun and experiment first and foremost!
His tips and suggestions really helped me improving, and I feel like now - thanks to him - I have such a better understanding of not only photography in general, but also of what a good photo *should* look like.
I’m really glad my friend picked him as a teacherView more recommendations
