About Benjamin
Hi, I’m Ben, a passionate and dedicated maths tutor currently studying for a master’s degree in mathematics at the University of Exeter. I believe that a great teacher can have a substantial impact on a student’s confidence and success. I am professional, reliable, and committed to helping students reach their full potential. Whether a student needs help grasping the basics or is aiming for the highest grades, I create a learning environment that is both engaging and effective. My goal is to make maths less intimidating and more approachable, helping students feel fully prepared for their GCSE exams.

I believe that every student has the potential to succeed in maths with the right guidance and support. My tutoring approach is tailored to each student’s needs, ensuring they build confidence and strong problem-solving skills. I use a structured but flexible approach, beginning with a diagnostic assessment to identify strengths and areas for improvement. I break down complex topics into simple, digestible steps and use real-life examples to make abstract concepts more relatable. Interactive problem-solving, past paper practice, and step-by-step explanations are key elements of my teaching. Lessons typically last one hour, though I can adjust based on the student's needs. I also offer more revision-based sessions closer to exam time. My lessons are designed for GCSE students of all levels, from those aiming for a passing grade to those targeting top marks. I cater to students in Year 9 to Year 11 and adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles.
