About George
As a Computer Science PhD Researcher at Newcastle University with over six years of tutoring experience, I am passionate about making STEM and programming accessible, engaging, and highly rewarding.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science (Security and Resilience) and have successfully guided students of all ages—from eight-year-olds taking their first steps in coding to mature learners and university students. My expertise spans formal academic specifications (GCSE, A-Level, and Undergraduate Computer Science) alongside hands-on, practical programming in Python, Rust, C, HTML, and CSS.
Beyond academia, I am an active volunteer with a major international First Aid charity, holding an Emergency First Responder qualification. Computer Science is a dynamic subject with fascinating links to almost every modern discipline, and my teaching approach actively reflects this excitement. I recognise that no two learners are the same, which is why my lessons are entirely tailored to your bespoke needs.
In our early sessions, we will collaborate to establish a clear, adaptable roadmap. You will always know what to expect from each hour, and the plan will evolve naturally alongside your progress and development.
Once the foundation is set, we focus heavily on applied learning. I specialise in breaking down complex technical theories using approachable, real-world analogies to solidify understanding.
My ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between abstract theory and practical application, ensuring you feel entirely confident tackling exams, coursework, or personal coding projects.
Lessons are typically one hour in length and conducted online, providing a flexible, highly focused digital learning space.
