About Raymond
Musical progress can sometimes feel slow just before a breakthrough happens. By focusing on the smallest details of bow technique, we can create lasting improvements in control, confidence, and overall performance. Our lessons will include scales, arpeggios, and ear training to strengthen your foundation and support your long-term development as a violinist.
For students preparing for ABRSM or Trinity exams, we will carefully analyze each piece to improve interpretation, tone production, and technical accuracy. You will also receive recorded examples of challenging passages to support your practice at home and help you approach difficult sections with clarity.
My teaching approach is shaped by the discipline and standards of a professional chamber musician, with a strong focus on refined technique and musical expression. I take great satisfaction in helping students develop skills such as spiccato and staccato while discovering greater confidence in their playing.

I still remember the moment when the violin began to feel like a natural extension of my own voice. After earning a Master of Music degree from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, I have carried that same dedication to precision, expression, and musical growth into my teaching practice with over 400 students.
Throughout 13 years of teaching, I have worked with learners of all ages and backgrounds, including adult musicians and self-taught players looking to refine their technique. My approach focuses on developing strong fundamentals, including posture, instrument hold, and efficient movement, so students can play with greater comfort, confidence, and control.
I believe that solid technique creates the freedom to express yourself fully as a musician. My goal is to guide each student toward meaningful progress while helping them develop the skills, confidence, and artistry needed to achieve their musical goals.
