About Kayla
I earned my B.S. in Biology with a minor in Neuroscience from Millsaps College, and my M.S. in Biology from Idaho State University. I have been tutoring biology since high school, worked as an undergraduate TA for a field biology course for one year, and worked as the lead graduate TA for cadaveric based anatomy and physiology for the past two years. I have taught audiences that include non-traditional, ESL, pre-health profession, and disabled undergraduate students. I enjoy teaching so much that I voluntarily traveled the southern U.S. giving guest lectures on various entomological topics as well as worked as an outreach coordinator for the Physics department at Idaho State University to bring the world of science to high schools students.

I base my teaching methods upon working toward an understanding of concepts, and really discovering why the correct answer is correct as opposed to a memorization approach. I also aim to have students personally identify with concepts to create a more significant understanding relationship.
